Prepare For Farm School

Preparing For Farm School

You've decided that Farm School is the school for you! Below, we have listed what you will need to ensure your kiddo is prepared for time on the farm!

Required Gear

Insulated Boots/ Rain Boots

Rain boots will be fine for the fall and spring. However, we recommend insulated boots for year-round use. The insulated boots are thicker and ensure your child's feet stay warm and dry.

Classroom Slip On Shoes

Children will take off their outdoor work boots before entering the classroom therefore, we recommend a shoe like a croc or something similar for them to change into. We promote independence for the kids and a shoe like a croc will allow the kids to put their classroom shoes on all on their own.

Change Of Clothing

Each student will need to have a complete change of clothes available: a sweatshirt, shirt, pants, socks and underwear. Please make sure the clothing is seasonally appropriate.

Seasonal Gear

When the rain starts we will need each child to be prepared to go out in it. This may mean a rain coat and pants or a complete rain suit. When the cold begins, children will need to have warm layers on to either go under their rain outfit or snow suit/bibs. Additionally, during the winter we recommend each child have a hat and gloves as well as warm socks or layer multiple socks.

Food And Water

Little Arrows Farm does not provide lunch and/or snack so your child will need to come with food. Please pack your child with a labeled lunch box and labeled water bottle and we recommend packing more food than your child would normally eat as they do work up an appetite. Additionally, having a dedicated snack for them to eat before we head out on our first adventure of the day because we know not all kiddos are great at eating breakfast and we want to make sure they have something in their tummies before we head out for farm chores.

Labeling

We know that these items are bought with your child in mind so please make sure to clearly label anything coming to school with them so we can make sure it goes home with the correct child.

Recommendations

We have a product suggestion list below however, if you have any questions about the products we recommend or need clarification on what we are requesting, please don't hesitate to ask.
